Ministry Board Meeting
January 9, 2012
Minutes

Present:  Tim Byer, Pastor Glenn Heinsch, Margie Langston, Becky Gitthens, Dick Wortham, Bob York, Willard Menter, Cindy Curley, Liz Byer

Absent:   Lori Andrews, Pastor Steve

 The meeting was opened in prayer by Bob York at 7:06 p.m.

Tim Byer led the meeting and said there were basically two items on the agenda:  Pastor Glenn’s list and who the new people will be on the next Ministry Board.

Pastor Glenn brought a packet of information (see attached) regarding two Flat Screen TV’s he would like to purchase. His information included a good TV, a better TV and the best TV. One would be in the Fellowship Hall and one would be in the Conference Room of the Office Building.  The TV in the Fellowship Hall would be the bigger one with a small sound system attached to it.  The TV in the Conference Room would be a smaller one without a sound system since the room is smaller.  After discussion, the group agreed to go with the middle of the road system:  The larger TV for the Fellowship Hall and smaller TV for the Office building.   Glenn will right up a proposal to give to the Finance Team regarding this.  If it is approved there it will go to the Church for a vote.  Total cost is approximately $2,000.00.

Each Ministry Team Board Member was to contact their Teams and find a replacement for themselves if needed and an alternate board member.

·        Margie Langston – Service – She was not able to find a replacement.  A few additional names were discussed and she will contact them.

·        Cindy Curley - Care and Connection - Barb Martin will replace Cindy and Cindy will continue on as an alternate.  She may also contact Abby Harris to see if she would like to be the alternate.

·        Becky Gitthens – Discipleship – Becky will stay on with Roy Strock as her alternate.

·        Dick Wortham – Outreach - Dick is having a meeting on the 19^th to make a decision and will let Tim know.

·        Bob York – Stewardship – Bob will be staying on with Willard Menter as his alternate

·        Lori Andrews – Worship – Lori was absent so Tim will contact her this week.

·        Tim Byer – Support - Tim will continue on with Gary Igo as his alternate.

Places where we are still short on help

·        Nursery: It was suggested someone contact Sue Ann Cooper and Sue Wortham as possible
Co-Chairs. 

·        All-Church Dinners

·        Communion

·        JOY Breakfast

 Everyone is to invite their new people and alternates to the next meeting which will be February 6 at 7:00 p.m.

Round Robin:

·        Cindy Curley- no new news

·        Willard Menter-Buildings and Grounds has finished the stage remodel.  The new basement windows are in. The next project will be the boys and girls bathrooms off of the Jr. Church room.   

·        Bob York-More Faith money will be available to go out as more money came in than we spent.  They will make recommendations.

·        Dick Wortham-things seem to be working well at the moment.  There may be a Mission’s Conference in April with Bill Bacheller and Jack Foster.  Also Missions maybe looking at something for a Youth Trip for Summer 2012.

·        Becky Gitthens-Still an on-going need for small group leaders.  She is going to try to communicate with her Teams via Facebook.  She will see how that goes and report back.

·        Margie Langston-no new news

·        Tim Byer-Pat Whiting is looking for more pictures for the History book of events, new babies, weddings etc for the 2011 book.

Tim asked if everyone thought the placement and organizations of the various Teams was affective?
Bob York said since the budget was planned on how the Teams are organized that it couldn’t be changed at this time.
